The Estate Collection Vol. 5 - Peranakan Dangling Earrings
A symphonic amalgamation of culture; this style of dangling earrings was heavily inspired by the Europeans, and yet, it was entirely and distinctly Straits Chinese in its aesthetic, given the jewellery techniques used and the preference for bright yellow gold and iconic intans. The drop style of these earrings brings with it a dramatic flair.
In keeping with the spirit of glamour, custom-cut lavender jade cabochons were added alongside a slender 18KT gold chain. The end result is that the piece can be worn as a showstopper for an evening event; and it can be worn shorter, as a pair of everyday earrings.
This piece is part of a digital gallery exhibition and is not currently available for purchase.
The Estate Collection encompasses antique jewellery pieces thoughtfully restored to reflect our stories across time and continents — to honour history, to shape the present, and to hold space for what’s yet to unfold. Each piece is the only one of its kind in the world.
