The Botanicals: The Choo Yilin Estate Library
This year, we’re taking a trip down memory lane with our founder, Yilin. We’re celebrating the stories of botanicals that have been an integral part of the Choo Yilin Universe. We have carried these stories with us for years, and we’re delighted to finally be able to share them with you.
Beyond the botanical collections that Choo Yilin has created over the years, do you have stories about other botanical pieces that have been impactful to the brand?
Yilin: Over the years, we have carefully collected and restored estate pieces, mostly antique jewellery, and have lovingly stored them in our Estate library. Many of these pieces had strong botanical motifs and influences. We were deeply inspired by them – from the craftsmanship to the artistry and the stories of these pieces that have survived hundreds of years.
In 2023, we showcased our inaugural Estate Collection, featuring our first ten pieces from our Estate library. Most of them featured strong floral influences from different eras and cultures. They are a reminder that we stand on the shoulders of giants before us, and we hope that you are as moved by them as we are.
How have they been impactful to the brand?
Here are three illustrations of 19th Century marvels that have been further reinterpreted and reimagined by us, infusing a 21st Century and Choo Yilin twist to these antique treasures.
