The Estate Library Sequels
In 2023, we unveiled our first Estate collection, where we shared 10 pieces from Choo Yilin’s Estate Library, reimagined with our signature Type A jadeite. The idea was to pay homage to these historical jewels while imagining them with the Choo Yilin aesthetic.
In 2024, we pushed the envelope one step further by taking three of these antique pieces from the Estate Library and creating entirely new pieces. Each of these pieces is directly inspired by an aspect of their predecessors. We call them the Estate Library Sequels, a 21st century interpretation of the historical jewels that came before us.
These pieces were created specifically for everyday wear in the 21st Century. They are also suitable for gifting, with prices starting from under USD 200.
Vol. VI Chap. I: The Georgian Botanical Hoops
The original Georgian earrings – Volume Six (VI) from our Estate Library – are statement evening-wear earrings, impactful with their length and size. We took the botanical swirls of the stunning Georgian open-work and went the other way, creating delicate, versatile hoops meant for everyday wear instead.
The 10KT rose gold hoops can be worn both front and back:
The front: features three tiny diamonds on one side interspersed with the floral open work
The back: Choo Yilin’s logo set in open work
These hoops can be worn by themselves or with almost any drops of your choice, making this incredibly versatile.
Vol. XI Chap. I: The Single Jade Drop and Vol. XI Chap II: The Jade, Diamond & Gold Drop
These 10KT rose gold botanical drops were directly inspired by the delicate diamond-studded stamens of this statement late Victorian old mine cut diamond piece, Volume 11 (XI), in the brand’s Estate Library.
The diamond-studded stamens are set in the most subtle, asymmetrical curved bezel, mimicking its organic nature perfectly. The design motif guided us to build on this organic bezel setting, with more pronounced, lusher curves, where we eventually created two drops:
The first (Chapter I): a single Type A custom-cut jadeite 3.5mm jade cabochon, a larger but no less delicate version of the Victorian diamond-studded stamens.
The second (Chapter II): A cluster of three curved stamens, this time featuring a custom-cut Type A jadeite cabochon, a tiny melee diamond, and the last in brushed matte gold.
They can be worn with the Georgian-inspired Hoops in 10KT gold or with our Classics studs. While they were not designed to be necklace charms, they can also be worn with that.
Vol. X Chap. I: The Botanical Diamond Jacket
One of the most iconic Victorian motifs, Volume 10 (X) in our Estate Library, is an abstract diamond-studded floral design. We created a diamond jacket with it.
Our version is a delicate, milgrained homage to the botanical motifs the Victorians loved and featured in our 1880s Old Mine Cut diamond piece. It was designed specifically to be worn with our Classic studs, but they are versatile enough to be worn with other studs too, like pearls.
